i. Hirer: The person or other organisation hiring/renting the Equipment or item.
ii. Owner: Owner or custodian of the Equipment or Item being hired/rented.
The Hirer is responsible for the safe and correct operation of Equipment (conforming to relevant legislation and any operating and safety instructions supplied) by competent persons not under the influence of alcohol or drugs and for its constant supervision within the range of children.
The Hirer will immediately notify the Owner of any Equipment breakdown or shortcoming without attempt at repair. The Hirer will ensure any other Equipment used in conjunction with or attached to the Owner's item or equipment also conforms to safety requirements.
The Hirer is presumed to have all the information and skills necessary for careful and normal use of the item or equipment that has been hired.
The Hirer is the sole custodian of the equipment or item during the period of hire or rental and therefore the sole person responsible for any damage or injury that the equipment or item could cause to the Hirer or a third party.
The Owner assumes no liability during the rental period for the item or equipment hired, in particular regarding its incorrect, imprudent or illegal use.
